It’s ironic how people still lose their passport despite its size, then again, maybe that’s the reason why it gets misplaced frequently unlike other identification papers that fit in people’s wallets. Here’s the good news, you can have your passport conveniently and safely tucked in your wallet, this is called the passport card. This has the same size as your driver’s license and is used when traveling by land or sea to certain countries such as Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean. It is also considered a valid identification document in the US for citizens who are too young to have a driver’s license. Aside from the size, a passport book and a passport card difference is that the latter cannot be used when traveling abroad via air, the passport book is required.
The passport book and the passport card have the same validity which is 10 years (for children 15 years old or younger, the validity is only 5 years). You have the freedom to choose which one you wish to have to depend on the country you are planning to travel to; you can have both, you can have either one.
