FAQ – Passport Replacement

Passport Replacement

Will the number on my new passport be the same with the one I’m replacing?

No, when you replace your passport, your book number changes each time.

Until when can my passport be valid?

A new passport comes with a new date. You will be given 10 years validity if you are 16 years old and above, but if you’re a minor (15 years below) you will be given 5 years.

I have extra photos of the same picture I used on my last passport. Can I use the same photo?

No, your photo must be different from your last passport.  It must be taken within 6 month from submission of your passport application.

What should I do if I’m outside the US and I need to replace my passport?

You can replace your passport outside the US, just look for the closest US consulate general or embassy. Read this blog for more details!
